Feel the Spin
A provocative story about science and faith following the Civil War. Thomas Walters, a former rancher from Pennsylvania, is the first science teacher ever at Tideland College, South Carolina. Walters' subject matter invariably leads to conflicts with religious orthodoxy at the college.
A number of compelling characters enhance the action and atmosphere of the story, including two former slaves employed by the Walters family, a humorous Latin professor, and three rambunctious students.
Feel the Spin connects the reader with seekers of truth and their struggles for meaning through the ages.

CHAPTER EIGHT
June 26, 1876
When the two professors returned to the Centennial Exhibition the next morning, they decided to take the small-gauge train, which traveled a circuit of the entire grounds. It provided a wonderful view of the major buildings as well as a sweeping overall vista of the park. They boarded the train near the Main Exhibition Building. Thomas exclaimed, "We should have done this yesterday!"
